Penerapan Furnitur Multifungsi sebagai Solusi Efisiensi Ruang pada Coffee Shop Skala Kecil di Kota Medan

Small-scale coffee shops generally have limited space, resulting in suboptimal space utilization, particularly when the number of visitors increases and the activities taking place become more diverse. This condition leads to less efficient space arrangement, while the use of single-function furniture further limits the optimal use of space. These problems indicate the need for furniture that not only functions as seating but also supports space efficiency and accommodates users’ activities. This study aims to implement multifunctional furniture as a solution for improving space efficiency in small-scale coffee shops. The methods used include observation, interviews, questionnaires, and document studies. The collected data were then analyzed to identify spatial characteristics, user activities, furniture needs, and ergonomic aspects as the basis for furniture implementation. The resulting application is a multifunctional stool with a stackable system that functions as seating and is equipped with a hanger for storing personal belongings, such as small bags. The stackable system allows several stools to be stacked when not in use, making storage space more efficient and providing greater flexibility in spatial arrangement. The product dimensions were determined based on users’ anthropometric data to provide comfort, safety, and ease of use. The results indicate that the implementation of multifunctional furniture can support space efficiency in small-scale coffee shops while providing a functional, flexible, ergonomic solution that meets users’ needs
