Plagiarism Screening Policy

The Editorial Board of Global Expert: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra considers plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct unacceptable. To uphold academic integrity and ensure the originality of published works, the journal implements a plagiarism screening policy for all submitted manuscripts.

Before a manuscript is sent to peer reviewers, the editorial team conducts an initial assessment to identify potential plagiarism, redundant publication, and substantial overlap with previously published works or other available sources. The screening process may involve searches through Google Scholar and the use of plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin, to help identify similarities between the submitted manuscript and existing publications.

Manuscripts submitted to Global Expert: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra are expected to demonstrate originality and appropriate attribution of all sources. The journal applies a maximum similarity threshold of 30% as an initial screening criterion. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding this threshold will normally be returned to the authors for revision and resubmission, subject to editorial assessment.

The similarity index alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred. The editorial team will examine the similarity report, taking into account the nature and context of the matched text, including properly cited quotations, references, standard terminology, and other legitimate similarities. If plagiarism or other forms of academic misconduct are suspected, the journal may request clarification from the authors, reject the manuscript, or take other appropriate action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policy.

The final decision regarding a manuscript's suitability for publication rests with the Editorial Board, based on the originality of the work, compliance with publication ethics, and the results of the editorial assessment.
