Author Declaration, Ethics & Conflict of Interest
Bio Palembanica is committed to maintaining high standards of research integrity, publication ethics, and transparency. All authors are expected to comply with the following requirements when submitting a manuscript to the journal.
The Corresponding Author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have read, understood, and approved the manuscript and all required declarations before submission.
- Originality and Exclusive Submission
Manuscripts submitted to Bio Palembanica must be original and must not have been previously published, in whole or in substantial part, or be under consideration for publication in another journal.
Authors must disclose any previous publications, preprints, datasets, conference papers, or other materials that substantially overlap with the submitted manuscript. Relevant work must be properly cited and disclosed to the Editor.
Duplicate or redundant publication without appropriate disclosure is considered a violation of publication ethics and may result in rejection, withdrawal, correction, or retraction of the manuscript.
- Authorship
All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial contributions to the research and manuscript.
Authorship should be based on:
- substantial contributions to the conception and design of the study, acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data;
- drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content; and
- final approval of the version to be published.
All authors must meet all applicable authorship criteria and agree to be accountable for their contributions and the integrity of the work.
The order of authorship must be agreed upon by all authors before submission.
- Changes in Authorship
Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must be submitted by the Corresponding Author to the Editorial Office.
Such requests must include a clear explanation and written agreement from all affected authors. The editorial process may be suspended until the authorship issue has been satisfactorily resolved.
Changes in authorship after publication will be considered in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and may require a correction or other appropriate editorial notice.
- Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial interests that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research, analysis, interpretation, or presentation of the results.
Potential conflicts may include financial relationships, employment, consultancy, institutional affiliations, personal or professional relationships, intellectual property interests, research funding, or other relevant interests.
If no conflict of interest exists, authors should use the following statement: The authors declare that there are no known conflicts of interest that could have influenced the research, analysis, interpretation, or publication of this manuscript.
- Research Ethics
Research published in Bio Palembanica must comply with applicable ethical standards, institutional requirements, and national and international regulations.
Research Involving Animals. Studies involving animals must comply with applicable institutional, national, and international guidelines for the ethical treatment and use of animals. Where applicable, authors should provide the relevant ethical approval information.
Research Involving Human Participants. Studies involving human participants must have appropriate ethical approval where required, and informed consent must be obtained in accordance with applicable regulations and ethical standards.
Biodiversity and Field Research. For field-based biological research, authors are responsible for obtaining all necessary research, collection, access, and other relevant permits.
Research involving biological specimens must comply with applicable biodiversity, conservation, and national regulations. Where appropriate, authors should provide information concerning research permits, collection permits, voucher specimens, and relevant repositories.
- Funding
All sources of financial support for the research must be disclosed in the manuscript.
If no specific funding was received, authors may state: This research received no specific funding from any public, commercial, or not-for-profit organization.
- Acknowledgements
Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be appropriately acknowledged.
Technical assistance, field or laboratory support, institutional assistance, equipment, materials, and other relevant contributions should also be acknowledged where appropriate.
- Data Availability
Authors should provide a Data Availability Statement where applicable. Research data and supporting materials should be made available whenever possible, provided that doing so is consistent with ethical, legal, privacy, and institutional requirements.
- Author Declaration
By submitting a manuscript to Bio Palembanica, the authors confirm that:
- the manuscript is original and is not under consideration elsewhere;
- all authors meet the journal's authorship requirements;
- all authors have read and approved the submitted manuscript;
- the order of authorship has been agreed upon by all authors;
- all relevant conflicts of interest have been disclosed;
- all funding sources have been appropriately acknowledged;
- applicable ethical approvals and research permits have been obtained;
- the research complies with relevant laws, regulations, and institutional requirements;
- the data and results presented are accurate and have not been fabricated or falsified; and
- any substantive use of AI or generative AI has been appropriately disclosed.
The Corresponding Author is responsible for communication with the Bio Palembanica Editorial Office throughout the submission, peer-review, revision, and publication processes and for ensuring that all co-authors agree with the final version of the manuscript.

Where required by the journal, authors must complete and sign the Author Declaration Form and upload it through the online submission system together with the manuscript.
