Focus and Scope
Jurnal Pemerintahan dan Politik is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published quarterly. The journal publishes original research on government, governance, and political phenomena in Indonesia. It aims to advance theoretical, conceptual, methodological, and empirical understanding of the Indonesian government and political system while contributing to broader scholarly debates in government and political studies.
The journal welcomes rigorous and original research employing qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, comparative, and interdisciplinary approaches to examine governmental institutions, political processes, governance practices, and public affairs in Indonesia. It encourages studies that move beyond descriptive accounts to provide robust empirical analysis, engage critically with relevant scholarly literature, and offer meaningful theoretical, conceptual, or methodological contributions. Research may focus on national, provincial, district, municipal, village, or other relevant levels of government and political life in Indonesia.

The journal particularly welcomes research that demonstrates a clear analytical contribution, employs transparent and appropriate research designs, and engages with relevant theoretical and empirical debates. Studies of specific regions, institutions, communities, or policy contexts within Indonesia are encouraged when they provide insights that extend beyond the immediate case and contribute to a broader understanding of government and political phenomena. Comparative research is also welcome when Indonesia constitutes a substantive focus of the analysis.
